BioProfessor Kate Corrigan is a historian, author, and general expert in the field of paranormal phenomena (specifially demonic and/or spiritual manifestations). She still wonders why on Earth gave up a cushy job at New York University to take the position of field director at the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, but she really does enjoy her job. As field director, she babysits manages a group of paranormal investigators, almost all of whom have been subjects of paranormal investigation themselves at some point or other. She is probably the most normal person employed by the BPRD in a field-work-related position.
Kate enjoys not being eaten, knowing that her friends are alive, and the times when she doesn't feel completely useless. Her turn-offs include giant frog monsters, nazis, and boiling human fat.
In her spare time (which isn't much these days, but still), Kate writes - she has written 16 books dealing with folklore and occult history, including The Confessions of Isabel Gowdie.
